The Cardiovascular Imaging and Research Centre (About CIRC)
Within the Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC) and the CWZ Hospital in Nijmegen the Cardiovascular Imaging and Research Centre (CIRC) organizes courses for cardiovascular imaging modalities. Besides, within the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM), CIRC performs several research projects.
From the beginning of 2010 a second course side is opened in the CWZ Hospital in Nijmegen. The Cardiac CT courses will be held in a state of the art facility. In the CWZ hospital radiologist and cardiologist have great exprience in performing Cardiac CT with a Cardiac CT program of >1200 CCT/ year and an extensive emergency Cardiac CT program.
Due to the excellent collaboration of the Cardiology and Radiology department of the Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC) and in the CWZ Hospital in Nijmegen and in collaboration with Philips Healthcare we offer courses for Cardiac Multidetector CT especially designed for Cardiologists, Radiologists and Technicians. The spoken language is English.
Currently we offer two Cardiac CT courses.
Level A Course
The Level A course will impart the participants the basics of the interpretation of the images and the optimization of image acquisition. 50 selected cases will be completed with the use of cardiac dedicated PHILIPS software. This course will be taught at level 1.
Level B Course
The level B course is designed for experienced Cardiologists, Radiologists in cardiac CTA. This advanced course will train participants to an experienced level 2 user, covering the ability to perform cardiac CT scans and to interpret cardiac CT images. 100 selected cases will be completed with the use of cardiac dedicated Philips software.
